Common Sense Parenting
Common Sense Parenting classes sponsored by Army Community Services are Tuesday, Nov. 3, 10, and 17, and Dec. 1, 9 and 15 in Doss Memorial Hall (Bldg. 17), ACS, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will be taught skills to help them encourage positive behaviors in children. The Walter Reed Army Medical Center Prostate Cancer Support Group’s next quarterly meeting is 7 p.m. Wednesday in Joel Auditorium. Fort Belvoir CIF reducing hours
The Fort Belvior (Va.) Central Issue Facility will be reducing operating hours and services. The new hours are 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. CIF will be closed on Fridays. Priority will be given to advanced individual training Soldiers stationed at Fort Belvoir, followed by retiring and end of time in service Soldiers. Soldiers departing on permanent change of station orders will retain all organizational clothing and individual equipment. Soldiers should expect delays of two hours or longer.
AMEDD Commissioning Brief
The Army Medical Department Commis-sioning Brief is scheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Heaton Pavilion’s Joel Auditorium. Maj. Dawn Orta, interservice physician assistant program manager, is slated to be the presenter. Health plan open season nears
The Civilian Personnel Advisory Center is sponsoring the Walter Reed Army Medical Center Annual Civilian Health Fair Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Old Red Cross Building (Bldg 41). The fair provides civilian employees with the opportunity to meet with representatives from local Federal Health Plan providers to explore health plan options available during the 2009 open season, which runs from Nov. 9 through Dec. 14. During the open season, employees can enroll in, change or cancel a health, dental or vision plan. An induction ceremony for the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Walter Reed Chapter, is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in the old hospital (Bldg. 1), Vorder Bruegge Auditorium.
