MWR

Preschool Movement class

Join Lisa Burrows for a Preschool Movement class for three-year-olds Mondays (Oct. 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24, Dec. 1, 8) from 10 - 10:45 a.m. in Studio A of the Energy Zone. She will also be offering a four-year-old class Tuesdays (Oct. 21, 28, Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25, Dec. 2, 9) from 10 - 10:45 a.m. in Studio A of the Energy Zone. The price is $40 per child. Register in the Information, Tickets and Tours office by Oct. 17.

Women’s Self Defense –Keychain Option

Instructor Shannon Cooley will be teaching a Women’s Self Defense – Keychain Option Thursdays (Oct. 30 and Nov. 6) from 6 - 8 p.m. in Studio A of the Energy Zone. (Must have taken Women’s Basic Self Defense.) The price is $25 for a two-week session and $12.50 for Liberty E1-E6. Register in the ITT office by Oct. 29.

Women’s Self Defense– Advanced Option

Sign up now for the Women’s Self Defense – Advanced Option with Shannon Cooley Thursdays (Nov. 20, Dec. 4, 11, 18) from 6 - 9 p.m. in Studio A of the Energy Zone. The price is $45 for a four-week session and $22.50 for E1-E6. Register in the ITT office by Nov. 29.

Pilates – all levels class

Join Meg McNeely for a Pilates-all levels class Tuesdays (Nov. 4, 11, 18, Dec. 2, 9, 16) from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in Studio B of the Energy Zone or Wednesdays (Nov. 5, 12, 19, Dec. 3, 10, 17) class from noon - 1 p.m. The price is $36 for a six-week session and $18 for Liberty E1-E6. Register in the ITT office by Nov. 3.

Halloween party

Friday, Oct. 24 the Flight Deck Lounge welcomes all for a Halloween party and live concert. The fun begins at 5 p.m. with DJ Brown and at 7 p.m. the band Miles From Clever. This is a free event and prizes will be awarded for the best costume. For more information call 301-342-3200.

Pumpkin Carnival

Enjoy hayrides, costume parade, pumpkin painting, tattoos, moon bounce, 8mm movies, hanging apple eating contest, carnival games and prizes and one free cotton candy Friday, Oct. 24 from 4 - 6 p.m. Snacks will be available for sale. There is something for everyone at this family event. Admission is $3.50 per person.

Holiday planning

MWR has your solution for upcoming holiday plans. MWR offers facilities for rent such as the Beach House, Cedar Point Club, Bowling Center and Cedar Point Golf Course. Contact the respective facility to make a reservation. Tables and chairs can be reserved through the ITT office. Having an on-station party and need catering? Drill hall winter hours

Effective immediately, the drill hall will begin winter hours: 5 a.m. - 10 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sundays and holidays.

Comics On Duty

Comedians Steve Bills, Jay Larson, Dave Landua and Tom Foss appear on stage at the Flight Deck Lounge Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door (if available). Content might not be suitable for under age children. Tickets are on sale now at the Cedar Point Club, Patuxent Landing Restaurant and Flight Deck Lounge.

Great Wolf Lodge

What do you say to a 67,000 sq. ft. indoor entertainment area featuring its own gigantic water park? Enjoy a mini getaway Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7, as the Information, Tickets and Tours office offers rooms at Great Wolf Lodge. Check in Dec. 6 and check out Dec. 7. A room sleeps six people and includes six passes to the water park and $8 in arcade tokens. The price is $168 per room. Register in the ITT office.

Wizards tickets

Tickets are now on sale to all station personnel for all Washington Wizards games at the Verizon Center. Tickets cost $53.50 each for lower level non-prime tickets. Prime games (Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics) will be $80.25 each for lower level tickets. Tickets must be purchased in pairs. Special orders may also be placed for home games at least two weeks in advance through the ITT office. All tickets are in Section 117 Row X Seats 1-10.

Drill Hall orientations

Every Wednesday join the new weekly group orientation to the drill hall at 11:30 a.m. The schedule is: 1st Wednesday of each month tour of drill hall (policies and procedures), 2nd Wednesday of each month cardio equipment tutorial, 3rd Wednesday of each month total body fitness center, 4th Wednesday of each month life fitness center and 5th Wednesday (occasional) exercising with the ball, BOSU and bands. Disney on Ice

Thrill to high speed stunts as Lightning McQueen, Mater and the crew race across the ice. Dive into The Little Mermaid’s enchanting undersea kingdom. Enter in a magical world of Pixie Hollow with Tinker Bell and experience the ‘‘Circle of Life” with the Lion King. Take the kids to see Disney on Ice: Worlds of Fantasy at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Friday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m., 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 2 at noon and 4 p.m. The price is $16.50 per person. NRC Solomons

Spooktacular

5K Run⁄Walk

Saturday, Oct. 18 run, walk or volunteer at the Ghoulish Gallop on a course along the scenic Patuxent River at Navy Recreation Center (NRC) Solomons. The registration fee is $20. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The race starts at 9 a.m. Participants will be divided into five age groups. Awards will be given for overall male and female finishers.
