NAVAIR’s Total Force Strategy and Management Department Career Development Office (CDO) hosted the first Summer Hire Career Progression Brown Bag session at Patuxent River recently.
Participants were exposed to the many career-development opportunities and resources at NAVAIR during the session.
The CDO’s objective was to familiarize Patuxent River summer hires on how NAVAIR enables its workforce to control their own career development by creating opportunities for development by providing career-planning tools and sustaining a career-development resource center.
Topics included Leadership Development, Mentoring, Master’s of Science in Systems and Engineering, and Recruitment.
‘‘Our community mission is to deliver the highest quality holistic development for the NAVAIR workforce so that they can provide the highest quality support to the war fighter,” said Director of the Career Development Office Diane Wallace.
More Brown Bag sessions are being planned to educate and further develop their total workforce on the opportunities available to them.
Both national and site sessions will be offered and will be interactive where questions are encouraged as is sharing of related information and best practices.
Look for future brown bag sessions in the local base newspapers, in announcements and in supervisor’s bulletins.
