Cedar point Junior Golf crowns champs for 2010

On Aug. 22, the Cedar Point Junior Golf Association (CPJGA) closed out its 11th season with the annual Junior Club Championship.

The two-day tournament included 29 players in four divisions, the 18-Hole division, the 9-Hole division, the Girls 5-Hole division and the Boys 5-Hole division.

In the closely contested 18-Hole event, Keyon Reisling took top honors and was crowned 2010 Junior Club Champion, shooting an outstanding, two-day, 36-hole score of 155, edging Grant Palmer by one stroke.

In the 9-Hole division, T.J. Walker took first place with an impressive score of 88. Zach Lindsey placed second with a score of 99.

In the Girls 5-Hole division, Megan Webster shot a 53 to take first place. Sarah Schroeder came in with a 57 for second.

Ryan Walker shot a 55 to bring home the trophy in the Boys 5-Hole division. Finishing second was Noah Eby with a 62.

After the club championship, the CPJGA also presented its annual Masters Putting Awards and Players of the Year Awards.

The Masters Putting Awards, sponsored by the Cedar Point Men’s Golf Association, are presented to the player in each of the four divisions with the lowest per-hole putting stroke average during the season.

The 2010 Masters Putting Award recipients were Grant Palmer in the 18-Hole division, Zach Lindsey in the 9-Hole division, Sarah Schroeder in the Girls 5-Hole division, and Ryan Walker in the Boys 5-Hole division.

The Player of the Year Award is presented to the player in each division who accumulated the highest point total based on their performances in tournaments throughout the season.

The 2010 CPJGA Player of the Year Award recipients were Keyon Reisling in the 18-Hole division, Zach Lindsey in the 9-Hole division, Sarah Schroeder in the Girls 5-Hole division, and Ryan Walker in the Boys 5-Hole division.
