Behavioral Health Services temporarily moved

Due to an air conditioning outage in Fort Myer’s Building 406, some Behavioral Health Services have temporarily moved to the Rader Clinic’s Building 525.

‘Movies on the Lawn’ tonight

See ‘‘The Water Horse” at JBM-HH Officer’s Club pool tonight. Refreshments and activities start at 8 p.m., and the movie begins at 8:45 p.m. No need to RSVP, just bring water tubes, floaties and bug spray to enjoy an evening in the pool, and we’ll provide the fun!

It’s Arlington County Fair time again

The Arlington County Fair runs through Aug. 22 at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 South Second Street in Arlington. Admission is free, and shuttle service is provided from locations throughout Arlington.

Fort Myer road construction Aug. 23-25

Pedestrian crossing lights will be installed at McNair Road between Memorial Chapel and the PX parking lot Aug. 23–25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Workers will be present daily to route traffic around the area of ongoing work and one lane will be open to traffic at all times.

Temporary electrical outage slated

Some buildings at Fort Myer will lose power temporarily while routine maintenance is performed.

Aug. 25 – 6 to 11 p.m. – Buildings 325 and 330.

Mandatory Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity classes will be held Aug. 25 and Sept. 22. Employees should attend the 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. session; managers and supervisors should attend the 1 to 3 p.m. session. All classes will be at the Fort Myer Town Hall.

Celebrate women’s rights w⁄5K fun run

Celebrate women’s right to vote with a 5K fun run - walk on Women’s Equality Day, Aug. 26 at 6:30 a.m. at the Fort Myer Fitness Center. Rader organization day set Aug. 27

All Rader Clinic services will close Aug. 27 after noon for their annual organization day. In addition on Sept. 3, Rader Clinic will operate on reduced staffing. The following services will be open Sept. 3: Laboratory, primary care clinic, pharmacy, x-ray, community health, physical therapy, behavioral health, pediatrics, EFMP, Tricare service center and occupational health; but the well-woman clinic, medical records, immunizations clinic, specialty clinic (includes podiatry, optometry, hearing conservation, physical exam clinic, and MEDPROS) will be closed Sept. 3.

‘Reball’ at JBM-HH

The field across from the Fort Myer Fitness Center will transform into a ‘‘Reball Arena” Aug. 27 from 2 to 7 p.m. and Aug. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reball is just like Paintball, but without the mess.

Participants must be 12 or older and can use their own paintball equipment.

MDW blood drive to honor 9⁄11 victims

Fort McNair is the site of a blood drive hosted by the Military District of Washington Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Devil Dog 7k Run⁄Walk

Military Police Ball Sept. 24

Fort Myer fox sought

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Public Works staff, an entomologist and safety personnel are trying to keep track of and follow (not trap or catch) a fox that’s been seen at dawn and dusk at Fort Myer.

The critter, these folks say, has a form of mange, and they are adding medication to food bait. They say they hope this will cure the fox of its ills and up its comfort level. If you catch a glimpse of the fox, call Brent Nelson at (703) 965-6044 or Ron Purvis at (703) 965-6073.
