Navy Ball fundraiser
Bruster’s Ice Cream will be selling ice cream in front of the ITT building from 1-2:30 p.m. today, then again on Aug. 5 at the North Engineering Center (Bldg. 2185), also from 1-2:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to this year’s Navy Ball. Come enjoy some ice cream and support this celebration of our Navy’s rich heritage.

Health Clinic Improvements
The Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River will be undergoing improvements to their grounds. Beginning Aug. 16, sidewalks will be replaced around the clinic. Business will be conduct as usual. Some areas of patient parking will be affected. Please use caution and follow all pathway signs.

Submissions to the Tester
The Tester is now accepting article submissions from its readers for publication in the weekly newspaper. Submission subjects may include events or activities; features on people around the base; or other human-interest stories, news articles or articles on personal experiences.

Submitting an article to the Tester looks great in a portfolio, on a resume or as part of a performance evaluation or awards package. Submission to the Tester does not guarantee publication, and the staff of the Tester reserves the right to edit and modify the piece to adhere to Navy and publication standards and styles.

TRICARE Smoking Quitline
If you are trying to kick the smoking habit, then help is just a telephone call away. The Smoking Quitline is now accepting calls. All non-Medicare eligible TRICARE beneficiaries within the United States can get assistance with going ‘‘smoke-free” by calling the toll-free quitline 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. To get assistance, call the regional toll-free number, 866-459-8766.

TRICARE Online
TRICARE Online (TOL) is a website that continues to evolve as new tools emerge that are helpful to beneficiaries. Recently, the site has added features, including improved access and security. One new feature on TOL allows users to save their personal health data, such as medication and allergy profiles, demographic information, and a personal health summary to a PDF file on their computer. The feature is available on the TRICARE Online Personal Health Record site. To learn more, go to www.tricareonline.com.

TRICARE Online is the Military Health Systems Internet point of entry that provides all 9.6 million Department of Defense beneficiaries access to available healthcare services and information through an secure portal. TRICARE Online users who receive their care at Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River can schedule acute and routine appointments (24⁄7) and view their personal health records.

inTransition
Intransition is a voluntary program that is designed to support-service members (who are receiving mental-health care) as they transition between health-care systems or providers. The individual is assigned a personal coach to assist during this transition period. The coaches are skilled counselors, who understand today’s military culture and issues.

The program is accessible via toll-free phone number 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, 800-424-7877. There are several different ways to access the program and any type of discharge will work.
