Why isn’t there a Navy Federal ATM located anywhere at Pax River. There are multiple Cedar Point ATMs throughout Pax, and also one at Webster Field. I don’t understand why we cannot have at least one Navy Federal ATM on our Navy base.
Per instruction, there can only be one federal credit union on the base at one time, and they are to operate all ATMs.
I am the proud wife of a service member. As such, many civilians who live in this area ask me how they can help single Sailors, deployed service members and their families. People want to support and thank those who are protecting our freedoms every day. Is there a regular way to communicate to concerned citizens in the St. Mary’s County area specific programs and projects that they can participate in to show their support for these heroes.
There is no one single means of publicizing an activity of this sort in the county. The two biggest ways to get the word out in the general community are the local newspapers. You can send items to The Enterprise, P.O. Box 700, Lexington Park, MD 20653 (phone: 301-862-2111); The County Times, P.O. Box 250, Hollywood, MD 20636 (phone: 301-373-4125); and the Washington Post Southern Maryland Extra, 100 N. Oak Ave., La Plata, MD 20646 (phone: 301-934-3513). There is also Southern Maryland Online (http:⁄⁄somd.com; phone: 301-994-0704) and BayNet (www.thebaynet.com; phone: 301-373-2812). To place an announcement on all four local radio stations (WSMD, WKIK, WRKZ and WPTX), e-mail it to publicservice@somdradio.com. On station, we have the Tester. Send Tester items to testernews@dcmilitary.com.
Do you have a question for the Skipper? Send it to askco.ndw-npaxr@navy.mil. While the e-mails are not anonymous, questioners’ names will not be used in the Tester.
