Ten-Miler qualifications underway
JBM-HH Army Ten-Miler qualifiers are set for May 21, June 11 and July 30. Registration is from 5:30 to 6:15 a.m. on race days. The race begins at 6:35 a.m. The 10-kilometer races begin and end at the Fort Myer Fitness Center. Runners who qualify for the team will represent JBM-HH at the Navy 5-Miler in September and the Army Ten-Miler in October. This is a free event. Call (703) 696-7868 for more information.
USO to Host Deployed Family Fun Dayat Fort Belvoir
Come meet special guests Redskins cheerleaders, Boxer from WMZQ’s morning show and country star Justin Moore May 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Castle Park (located on the water at Tomkins Basin) at Fort Belvoir. Activities include crafts, games, moon bounces, re-ball, laser tag, balloon twister and prizes. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Click It or Ticket starts May 23
It's time for Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall's Click it or Ticket annual seat belt enforcement period. The dates of enforcement will be May 23 to June 6. As stated in Virginia law, you and anyone else in your vehicle must be wearing a seatbelt at all times. Call (703) 696-3525 for more information.
Henderson Hall Pool Closing
The Henderson Hall pool will close May 23 for removal of the dome that permits off-season swimming. The pool is expected to open with summer hours May 28. Summer hours, weather permitting, are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pool offers a variety of lessons and swim activities starting June 8. Limited parking at Fort McNair
The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct two large ceremonies — a change of watch and a change of command May 24 and 25 at Fort McNair. As a result, Fort McNair parking spaces will be limited these two days. Monday, May 24, the Fort McNair Officers’ Club parking lots at 1st Avenue and C Street and the 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue lots. Tuesday, May 25, the Fort McNair Officers Club parking lots at 1st Avenue and C Street and the 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue lots plus the South parking lot, the Lincoln Hall parking lot and the D Street parking area. Road Construction in the Works
In support of Fort Myer’s Bldg. 249, (The Old Guard Museum) renovation, Macomb Place (from Sheridan Avenue west to the fire lane drive) will be closed to all except emergency vehicles when necessary beginning May 24 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. The building will get a new slate roof and gutters after demolition of the current roof. The work, weather permitting, will continue for about six months, but Macomb Place will be reopened at the end of each day’s work. Also, when no activity occurs, Macomb Place will be open. Fort McNair Officers’ Club lunch buffet closed

This year’s POSH and EEO training set
Mandatory Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity classes will be held May 26, June 30, July 28, Aug. 25 and Sept. 22. MDW Army Family Action Plan Conference this summer
Army Community Service is looking for delegates to represent JBM-HH at the Military District of Washington AFAP Conference June 1-3 at Fort McNair. Delegates must be experienced with the AFAP process and must have been involved at an installation level AFAP conference. Budgeting for Baby and Baby Bundles
Get a jump on financial planning, nutritional and infant care advice so that when your baby arrives, he or she will be happy, healthy and financially secure. Staying Home Alone
This class is for children ages 9-12 and their parents. Parents will learn to develop a safety plan for their children, how to keep communication lines open and develop an awareness of the dangers of being home alone. Children will learn about handling emergencies, following safety rules and handling feelings of boredom, loneliness and fear. Post and county child supervision policies and guidelines are also reviewed. Army Birthday Ball
Celebrate 235 years strong at this year’s Army Birthday Ball at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, National Harbor, Md., June 12. Ticket registration has opened on AKO. Ticket cost is $87 per person. A limited number of discounted tickets are available to E-5 and E-6 (and GS⁄NSPS equivalent) at $20 per person and E4 and below (and GS⁄NSPS equivalent) at $15 per person. 2010 Customer Satisfaction Survey
The 7th Signal Command (Theater), Business Transformation Office, is conducting a 2010 customer satisfaction survey to solicit users for comments representing their views of C4IM services provided within the 93d Signal Brigade area of responsibility. The Fort McNair Dining Facility, operated by Soldiers of The Old Guard, will be closed Friday through Monday, May 28 through May 31 in observance of the Memorial Day weekend. Both the Fort Myer (holiday hours: breakfast 8 to 9:30 a.m., lunch 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., dinner 4 to 5:30 p.m.) and Henderson Hall dining facilities will be open.
