Town Hall Meeting

The Fleet and Family Readiness programs invite the patrons of NAS Patuxent River to attend a Town Hall Meeting on March 30 beginning at 3 p.m. at the River’s Edge Catering and Conference Center. Representatives from Child and Youth Programs, Fleet and Family Support, Housing, MWR, and Navy Gateway Inns and Suites will be on hand to give brief overviews of their programs and field any questions our patrons may have. This event is open to all including active duty service members⁄retirees and their family members, command ombudsmen, command representatives, government employees and contractors. Friday Family Fun Night —Special Event!

March 12 at the indoor pool. We will have the bounce house and games for the kids. Pizza and drinks will be served. Games and prizes! All are welcome; IAs are especially welcome! Sponsored by Northrop Grumman.

St. Patrick’s Party at the Flight Deck Lounge

Come celebrate the Green on March 12! DJ Brown will begin at 5 p.m. and then ‘‘Surreal” will rock the night beginning at 7 p.m. Appropriate dress required; offensive or indiscrete outfits will not be permitted.

All month long, Pax Landing will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with $5 Friday Specials. Get lucky with one of our featured specials including your favorite fish dishes each Friday. 10 Mile Relay Race:‘‘Third Time’s a Charm”

The Patuxent River Relay race is a 10-mile course that runs along the beautiful Patuxent River waters. On Friday, March 26, beginning at 11:30 a.m., teams of 2-5 runners will compete. Each team member will run between two and eight miles (depending on team size). This event is free to participate. Event shirts will be available for $10 (active duty military will receive shirt free upon registration). Register by March 19 at the Fitness and Sports Office in the Drill Hall. Lifeguarding Class

Register today at the Fitness and Sports Office for the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course. The class will start March 27, and all registrations must be in by March 26. Registrants must be at least 15 years old as of March 27, 2010. Learn lifesaving skills to help keep people safe in, on and around the water. These skills are in high demand. Classes will be held at the Pax River Indoor Pool. Class fee is $175. Call 301-757-3943 for more information.

Last Call for the Flight Deck Lounge

March 25 will be the Final Party at the Flight Deck Lounge beginning at 3 p.m. Starting April 1 all operations will be moving to the River’s Edge Catering and Conference Center. Join us for a font farewell to this historic watering hole.

Bowling Tournament

‘‘Bowl for Kid’s Sake” to benefit Big Brothers⁄Big Sisters at the Drill Hall Bowling Center. Event date will be March 27. Call Monique Melton at 301-290-0501 to register!

Easter Eggstravaganza

NRC Solomons invites your family to attend the annual Easter Eggstravaganza at the Large Pavilion onboard NRC Solomons on March 27 beginning at 1 p.m. Come early for an egg hunt and then join the festivities of bubble making, arts and craft activities, picture time with Peter Rabbit, music and dancing and so much more! Our Easter event is designed for toddlers to 12 years old. First 100 children will be able to dye an egg and participate in the hunt. Bring a white T-shirt to make your own spring time tie-dye. Wild Game Dinner

The Mattapany Rod and Gun Club will hold its annual Wild Game Dinner on March 20. Tickets are $15 per person. A maximum of 90 tickets will be sold for this event. Tickets may be purchased at the Rod and Gun Club between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday-Friday. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Dave Bryner at 301-481-5176.
