Sixteen enlisted Marines participated in the first-ever Marines magazine focus group at Lejeune Hall recently.
‘‘The purpose of the focus group was to get feedback from a cross section of ranks andoccupations within the Marine Corps,” said LouAnn Sabatier, a market researcher professional who ran the focus group. ‘‘This is part of a larger research initiative to make the product better and to continue to evolve.”
Marines from Camp Pendleton, Calif., and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif. will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas during the focus groups scheduled to take place next month.
‘‘It’s not every day you get to speakyour opinion on Marine Corps topics,” saidSgt. Philip Figareau, a participant in thefocus group.
Everything from how often the now-quarterly magazine is published to what types ofarticles liked or disliked was discussed during an informal round-table discussion.
‘‘The participants were passionate about their ideas that were contributed,” said Sabatier.
‘‘It’s important to get feedback from Marines because this is their official magazine.”
