Manassas Symphony concert March 13
The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra and Music Director James Villani are pleased to present ‘‘Grace and Sophistication,” sponsored by Assett, at Grace United Methodist Church, Wellington Road, Manassas, on March 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will feature music by Josef Haydn, the ‘‘father of the symphony.” Trumpet soloist Michael Delaune of the U.S. Army Band and Prince William Symphony will join the orchestra in a performance of Haydn’s ‘‘Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major.” Also on the program is the beautiful ‘‘Variations on a Theme by Haydn” byJohannes Brahms.

The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra is an all volunteer community service organization comprised of residents of the greater Manassas area and students at the Northern Virginia Community College’s Manassas Campus. The orchestra exists for the purpose of performing symphonic literature to provide highquality, low cost and family friendly orchestral experiences for the community while providing a performance outlet for areamusicians. The symphony performs four subscription concerts each season. In addition, the symphony and affiliated groups make several other concert appearances.

Community band concert March 14
The Prince William Community Band will present a free concert at 3 p.m. on March 14 with guest conductor, Robert W. Smith. The concert will be at Osbourn Park High School, 8909 Euclid Ave., Manassas. Musical selections include Robert Smith’s Symphony #3, ‘‘Don Quixote.”
