Want to be a Nashville Star?
We are looking for the next Nashville Star. Thursday at the Center Stage Theater from 4 - 8 p.m. auditions will be held. You could win a free trip to the first all-military casting call in Norfolk, Va., in April. All station employees, residents and their family members, 16 years of age or older, may register. Spouse Club presents comedy show
The Patuxent River Officer’s Spouse Club presents the 4th annual Comedy Show featuring from the DC Improv Jay Hastings, Jon Mumma and Justin Schlegel Friday, Feb. 29 at Little Flower School on Point Lookout Road, Great Mills, Md. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show starts at 8:30. Light appetizers, dessert and refreshment will be served. All proceeds benefit the Bethesda Fisher House and Navy Marine Corps Relief Society. The price is $15 advanced purchase, $10 E-6 and below and $20 at the door (limited seating). Purchase tickets at the Information Tickets and Tours office.
Wizards military appreciation
Join the Washington Wizards Military Appreciation Night March 8, at 7 p.m. when the Wizards take on the Charlotte Bobcats. The price for lower level tickets is $37.50 and $17.50 for Liberty E1-E6 and $10.75 for upper levels and $5 for Liberty E1-E5. The game is at the Verizon Center in Washington. Purchase tickets at the ITT office.
The circus is coming
The ITT Office has tickets for 1st Mariner Arena, Baltimore and Verizon Center, Washington, for various dates and times in March for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The cost is $18.50 for the Verizon Center and $17.75 for 1st Mariners Marina. Purchase tickets at the ITT office.
Flower show trip
The Philadelphia Flower Show’s theme for this year is Jazz It Up. See New Orleans' French Quarter come to life on the Bourbon Street Stage with bountiful balconies and courtyards as a backdrop for daily performances of toe-tapping N'awlins style jazz and parade. The ITT bus tour will be Saturday, March 8. The price is $75 adults and $65 for children (2-16 years old). The price includes transportation, tickets, welcome package and entertainment. Woodworking c lass
Register now for the popular basic woodworking class offered at MWR’s Wood Hobby Shop. Tuesday night classes begin March 18. The six-week class meets from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the CrafTech Bldg. 415. The cost is $75 per student and includes all materials. Registration begins Feb. 20 at the Wood Hobby Shop. Class is open to active-duty, retired and reservist military and their family members 18 years of age and older, and DoD employees, contractors working at Pax River or Webster Field, and full-time employees of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Learn how to draw in the Japanese anime style. A new class for beginners and advanced students will be held Tuesdays, Feb. 5 and 12. Also, join the painting a landscape in watercolor mix on Tuesdays, Feb. 19 and 26. Classes are taught from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Customized Creations in Bldg. # 415 near the fire station. Drill hall eligibility
DoD employees and their immediate family members may use the drill hall fitness facilities for free. DoD employees and their family members may also sponsor guests for $5 per day per guest, limit two. Purchase guest passes at gear issue inside the drill hall. Guests are free for the military and family members. Contractors are eligible for the Fitness and Sports Membership which entitles them to use the drill hall including basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts; free weight room; cardio and fitness rooms; bowling center; indoor pool and saunas. Membership also allows participation in numerous intramural sports teams. The price is $525 and $75 for the first family member and $50 for each additional. The member may sponsor a guest for $11 per visit. Other fees apply to swimming, gear issue and bowling. The ITT office has application forms.
Cedar Point Officers’ Club
The Cedar Point Officers’ Club is open for lunch Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. offering a full menu of regional dishes, salad bar, hot buffet and satisfying sandwiches. Enjoy the Friday lunch buffet for only $5 (membership discount does not apply.)
