MWR InfoCenter
Located just around the corner from Main Street, the MWR InfoCenter answers all your recreational needs. You can learn about the interesting classes, exciting fun runs, and adventurous trips offered by MWR. You may also purchase discount tickets for local amusement parks; movie theaters; special events; and area attractions; nearby ski resorts; and popular parks in the U.S., including Disney theme parks; Universal Studios; and Colonial Williamsburg. Brochures, maps and flyers are also available for quick reference and trip planning. The MWR InfoCenter is an authorized Ticketmaster outlet. Bethesda Naval Bowling Center The Bethesda Naval Bowling Center houses 20 bowling lanes with automatic scoring, a snack bar with a large outside deck, a game room with pool tables and a pro shop. Both open play and league bowling are offered year round for all ages. You can bring the whole family – all the lanes are equipped with automatic bumpers for young or inexperienced bowlers. Various party packages are available for your special events. Packages include bowling, shoe rental, food, drinks and a private party room. Call the Bowling Center to schedule. Comfort Zone Complex The Comfort Zone offers a variety of group fitness classes including BodyPump, BodyFlow, BodyCombat, Spinning, Yoga, Boot Camp and more. There are also Personal Training services, Fitness Challenges, monthly 5K Fun Runs, Triathlons and other exciting activities for all levels of fitness. The USU CafÈ, located in the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, serves breakfast and lunch, and offers catering and banquet services seven days a week for both small and large occasions. Daily EntrÈe Specials, Grill, Salad Bar, Pizza, Frozen Yogurt and more. Liberty Zone and Liberty Program The Liberty Zone and Liberty Program is open for all single E-1 to E-6 and Enlisted Geographical Bachelors stationed at NNMC. The Liberty Zone is a recreational center for fun and relaxation located in the Solace Hall Barracks, Bldg. 61, 2nd floor. Come to the Liberty Zone and kick back, relax, maybe watch a movie with over 600 options from the Navy Motion Picture Service, access the Internet with wi-fi or from our .Com Zone, play a video game, win prizes in a tournament, play pool, ping pong, foosball, attend special events like Pre-Payday Pigout free food nights, and so much more all at no cost. You can also snack on some free freshly popped popcorn, other provided snacks, and wash it down with a cold soda or water. There is something for everyone and we are open 365 days a year. Let us be your home away from home. The Liberty Zone is also home to the Liberty program, which takes a wide variety of trips to include sporting events, ski trips, white water rafting, lunch and movie nights, overnight trips to other cities such as New York City, sites in D.C. and Baltimore, and so much more. All trip sign-ups are at the MWR InfoCenter around the corner from Main Street. Child Development Center The Child Development Center, located at Bldg. 26 on Stokes Road behind the Bowling Center, is a full-time childcare facility for active duty military personnel assigned to the National Naval Medical Center, its tenant commands and the National Capital Area. Defense Department civilians of NNMC and its tenant commands are also eligible to use the facility on a space-available basis. Care is provided for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Navy Child Development Programs. Fees are based on total family income and will not be pro-rated, including weeks with a Federal holiday. A $35 registration fee must be paid in advance and is credited towards first weekly payment.
